I've always loved the art of food. You eat with your eyes first. Presentation, to me, is everything. There has always been a strange, wonderful feeling in my head and heart when I present something I've made, that I'm proud of, to an appreciative person. If that person is special to you and smiles at the love you have brought into the world, there is no better feeling to me. I wanted to share this sense of creativity to others and about five years ago Kane's Kitchen started taking shape in my thoughts. And now, with the help and hard work of my business partner and producer Jose Behar, and the unbelievable generosity of my friend and boss, Dean Devlin, It's here! Welcome to my house. I want to explain the concept of the show. I'm not trying to teach you tricks on how to get laid. I'm strongly stressing that romance should be brought into the kitchen. The kitchen is the key to unlock many magical things. I've always tried to make it the starting point to a great night, no matter if it's a first date, a relaxing movie night, a beautiful morning to start the day, or if it's another night in a 20 yr relationship. Romance and art are all around us. It's right there in the air, you just gotta grab it, and in this medium, put it down on a plate. I just wanted to show some people how to cook for a girl, or a guy, or whomever you might fancy or love. You know what, honestly, it doesn't have to be perfect. The effort and commitment will show another that you actually care and artist in an individual is so sexy on any level. It's just food man, but in the right hands it can be such a powerful weapon. Come ride with me, I won't let you down. Welcome to Kane's Kitchen!!!
Christian Kane
Hey Kaniacs! Christian Kane here. Here's my first scoop post to launch our site. Remember that we are adding content to our site in stages leading up to the launch of the show - which is still under wraps. So please come back often and check it out. For now, here is the scoop on my Savory Morning Bagel Smear:
1/2 cup soft cream cheese
2 strips of bacon (turkey)
Chopped shallot
Coarsely chopped salted pistachios
(Obviously take the damn shell off)
Pinch of curry
Dash of black pepper
(Course ground of you got it)
Fresh chopped chives
Coarse chop the bacon
Add everything to a mixing bowl except chives. Vigorously mix ingredients (It's alright to shake your ass while doing so, I mean we're making art here) add chives at the end of the stir, as to not break them down. Smear on a toasted bagel, I like to do it one bite at a time, and enjoy. KK
